Summary
For this corporate video, we parterned with GMS Services Ltd to capture all the fun filled action of their latest company away day.
It was a chance to down tools and for everyone to embark on a journey of team building, friendly rivalries and slipping all over the place on a load of soap!
We have worked with the GMS gang on a couple of occasions so we know that all the staff are down to earth and have a good time.
This is a great recipe for capturing great memories.
Pre-Production
Alongside high quality visuals, we also wanted to capture short interviews from the staff throughout the day.
We wanted to know how they like working for GMS and also find out first hand what benefits days like these bring.
We also captured interviews with two directors Gemma and Carl to hear why they bring the staff on days like this.
Video Production
Events like this are always action packed – that’s why we needed to be as efficient as possible.
Before the event started we managed to setup a small interview area outside in the shade of a tall tree. This give us a nice green backdrop which fit the vibe of the rest of the footage.
Setting up this area allowed us to get numerous staff member to sit down one after another to carry out short interviews.
To capture the majority of the footage we were running around trying out different angles and looking for interesting moments.
We had to be careful not to get in anybody’s way as this could cause an injury. We opted for a zoom lens that would allow us to capture all the action without getting too close.
Post Production
After sorting through all the footage and the interviews from throughout the day, it was clear that there was a common theme that we could relate to during the edit.
Most of the staff felt like working at GMS was like being in a big family. It was a place for them to belong and a place for them to do great work whilst making friends and being in a friendly atmosphere.
This is where we got the theme of the video which was “we move forward together”. This gave us direction when piecing together the final edits.
We delivered both a long and a short version of the edit to give GMS flexibility depending on where the video was being used.
We also provided all of the interviews as separate edits for these to be used for internal communications.
