Summary
Our short documentary Coming Home tells the story of Sarah Dearden, an artist from Lancashire.
Sarah was lucky to discover her creativity at an early age. However, as life took it’s toll she found herself in a dark battle with her mental health.
She looked to embrace her love for the arts as a way to escape from a downward spiral.
The Goal
Sarah came to us with the problem of wanting to impact more peoples lives with the creative services that she offers.
After our initial meeting, it was obvious to us that Sarah had an important story to tell.
In our video production brainstorming session, we decided that we wanted to produce a short documentary to tell her story as authentically as possible.
Origin Story
Sarah was lucky enough to connect with her creativity at a young age but things didn’t go to plan.
She conformed to a corporate career after university which led to a decline in her mental health.
She was assigned a place at a creative arts well being centre. This is where her life changed forever and she discovered her true purpose.
We knew we had to focus our video production on the transformation what Sarah went through and how people can relate to this.
Video Production
We shot this short documentary over two days at Sarah’s studio located in Barrowford, Lancashire.
We captured Sarah doing what she does best – and that’s creating!
At the end of the day we were lucky enough to capture an interview where Sarah was brave enough to pour out her heart and soul with us.
You could feel the passion and dedication and we ended up with some truly magical moments to use in the video.
