The Mission
This short documentary explores the journey of Sarah Dearden, a professional artist based in Lancashire, UK.
Sarah came to us with the problem of wanting to impact more peoples lives with the creative services that she offers. After our initial meeting, it was obvious to us that Sarah had an important story to tell.
In our video production brainstorming session, we decided that we wanted to produce a short documentary to evoke as much emotion as possible from the viewer.
Backstory
Sarah was lucky enough to connect with her creativity at a young age but things didn’t go to plan. She conformed to a corporate career after university which led to a decline in her mental health.
She was assigned a place at a creative arts well being centre. This is where her life changed forever and she discovered her true purpose.
We knew we had to focus our video production on the transformation what Sarah went through and how people can relate to this.
Video Production
We carried out the shooting of this short documentary over 1.5 days at Sarah’s studio located in Barrowford, Lancashire.
We captured Sarah doing what she does best – and that’s create!
At the end of the day we were lucky enough to capture an interview where Sarah was brave enough to pour out her heart and soul with us.
You could feel the passion and dedication and we ended up with some truly magical moments to use in the video.
Results
The final short film was well received and helped Sarah connect with her audience better.
Her story resonated with viewers that resulted in more messages and sign ups for her creative classes.
The film also helped her secure National Lottery funding to provide more classes in the Lancashire area.
